Orly Au Champagne + Orly Sashay My Way

Hi readers!

Just a quick mani post today. I am still catching up with nails I had on my vacation....so these pics are not the best. I took these ones while waiting for the Electrical Parade at Magic Kingdom to start...I was too paranoid they would get messed up before I could snap a pic. Not the most ideal that's for sure!

Anyway, I layered Orly Sashay My Way on Top of Orly Au Champagne. This combo felt so luxe on my nails! Still somewhat simple, but still makes a statement.

Sashay My Way is one of 22 (!) glitters to be released throughout this year by Orly. You can check out the other ones here.

I would love to hear what you think about them!

Born Pretty Store Hair Accessories: Mother/Daughter Edition!

Hey guys!

I'm going off the beaten path today to show you some cute hair accessories from Born Pretty Store. In addition to carrying tons of nail art supplies and polish, they have got lots of jewelry and other accessories at great prices as well.

First I am showing you a delicate lace headband embellished with pearls (find it here). I really liked this because it wasn't too tight and I hardly noticed it was there during the day (it's connected at the bottom with elastics)...a huge plus considering most headbands leave me with a headache and it's super cute!

And I decided to get my daughter involved because I love doing her hair! I thought these Hello Kitty clips (find them here) were perfect for her and I wasn't disappointed...she even had a little dress that matched perfectly!

I love Born Pretty's accessories because they are a cheap and easy way to switch things up and try something new. I definitely plan to try more in the future!

If you decide to stock up on some Born Pretty accessories, use code AJ10W21 to get 10% off your order. :)

So...have any of you found something cute from Born Pretty lately?

Neon Tie Dye + Sticks 'n Stones

Hi you guys!

It's been so long since I last posted! I just got back from vacationing in Florida with my family and had such a good time...now I am just trying to get adjusted back into daily life...yay. :)

The nail art look I am showing you today was one that I had on at the beginning of our trip. I thought these were perfect summer vacation nails...so bright and playful!

I first started with a layer of white, and then Dustin got all fancy swirling some of the China Glaze Summer Neons on each nail. I didn't actually use orange, it's just the pink and yellow touching, kinda cool though how it came together to make a tie dyed look. I then topped it off with Coverband Sticks and Stones...Dustin calls this mani an 80s explosion, but I love it!

Since I'm home now, I really hope to post more often...sometimes I feel like blogging is the only thing keeping me sane. haha

China Glaze Flirty Tankini + Glitter Frame Nail Art

Good morning!

I can't believe I haven't blogged this week! I have been so busy with life that I have barely had time to even pay attention to nail polish...I am about to go on vacation, so I'm not sure that's gonna change, but I really hope it does soon! I love the polish and blogging world, and the simple joy the polish can bring to your day. Cheesy, but that's how I feel! :)

So today I am reviewing and showing you a nail art look I did using some loose glitter from Born Pretty. They have a good selection of shapes and colors that come in little jars like the one below. For the look I used them for I hardly used any compared to what's in the container, so these are gonna last me a while!

I used China Glaze Flirty Tankini for the base. I painted one nail at a time and immediately began to stick the glitters around the edges of my nails. I used a pair of tweezers and pushed down on an individual piece of glitter to pick it up. I then carefully placed it in the wet polish. After I finished going around one nail, I topped it off with topcoat and moved on to the next.

This design was not nearly as time consuming or difficult as I thought it would be, especially for doing all 10 nails. It does take longer than, say, stamping a full mani, but nothing too crazy. Once you find your groove, placing the glitters goes pretty quickly.

I loved how this turned out! The glitter frame adds a luxe feeling my nails without being too over the top. So far the staying power of the glitter has been pretty good as well. I definitely want to try this again with more colors soon! Also, you can use code AJ10W21 to get 10% off your purchase at Born Pretty. :)

Have any of you tried a version of the frame mani yet?

Winks by Georgie False Lashes Review

Hi guys!

I have a makeup related posts for you today. I got these false lashes from Bloom.com to review a while back, and I am finally getting around to it! I am not a very experienced false lash user, so I was a little nervous to use them, but I was pleasantly surprised by the ease of use!

So these are pretty upscale lashes...they come with adhesive in a black compact with a mirror. I think this really helps with keeping the lash strips in good condition in between uses.
As for application, I was amazed at how easy it was! I had used fake lashes once before and had a pretty hard time with them, but it only took one try to get them on. I liked the adhesive a lot, I was a little apprehensive since it was white and not tinted, but it dried clear and there were no traces of it once it dried. I put on ELF Studio Creme Eyeliner in Black before I applied the lashes and everything blended seamlessly.

Here's a couple pics of my overall look. The lashes stayed on all day and after a little adjustment, I hardly remembered they were there. I think the lashes aren't too over the top for more casual wear, but are perfect for a more dressy event as well. If you are wondering, my lipsgloss is Milani Hot Flash (I am a big fan of this line!).

Overall, I am very impressed with these lashes and would definitely recommend these!

What are yall's thoughts on falsies?

LCN Colour Me Up Box Set

Happy Friday!!

I have been soo tired today so I am glad it's the weekend so I can just chill! I also got my hair cut/colored this morning and the girl messed up my layers so my hair is a tad shorter than I would like....how long till it looks a little more grown out?

Anyway, today I'm showing you a set from LCN called Colour Me Up. It includes 4 colors that are perfect for summertime.
This is Some Like It Hot, a hot coral shade. This is basically one coat, super good formula. I love this shade!

Spice Up Your Life (Spice Girls anyone??) - This also had great coverage in one coat, more of a dark pumpkin orange shade.

Fanappleistic- A saturated lime green, again one coat.

Colour Me Up- A medium purple with shimmer. Very pretty, and you guessed it...one coat! :)

I know these aren't the most unique shades out there, but the quality of the formula is very good, super easy to work with. So if you don't already have these colors in your collection, these are a great option.

You can buy this box set, or the individual shadesfrom LCN's for $29.90 (box) and $7.50 (individual).

So what do you guys think of these?

Reverse Stamping Design

Hey guys!

It's been a busy couple days packing You Mix orders and balancing a 1 1/2 year old! I tried to post this yesterday, but never got around to it. So I'm posting it now! :P

Dustin and I collaborated on this idea. I knew I wanted to use a reverse stamp (a design where most of what you stamp shows up rather than what you painted on the nail first). Then I thought it would look cool with  multicolors popping out, so Dustin randomly painted China Glaze Aquadelic, China Glaze Sweet Hook and Color Club Bubble Gum (this one is scented and I loved it!) and then stamped a reverse stamp from one of the XXL plates You Mix used to carry in black.

The end result is pretty awesome!

Have any of you tried this technique before?

Zoya Rory + Candy Lacquer White Wedding

Hi guys!

I've got a busy day ahead of me packing orders for You Mix with Dustin. But it's a good busy. :) I also wanted to ask you readers if any of you are interested in buying glitter that isn't solvent resistant. Maybe for some of you crafty ladies out there? You can find my email in the contact tab if you are interested. We have collected a good amount while testing glitters for You Mix.

Today's mani was just ok for me. I used Zoya Rory for the base. Rory reminds me of Gilmore Girls...I miss that show! Layered on top is White Wedding from Candy Lacquer. I wanted to like this polish, but it was way too sparse for my liking, and some of the glitters wouldn't really lay flat. It's still a fun over all mani, I think,.

I do love what Candy Lacquer has to offer though, so definitely check out their shop!

Color Club Wham! Pow! + Nail Art

Hello and happy Friday!

It's uncharacteristically cool and cloudy today, so I have a nice warm mani to brighten it up! I am pretty much obsessed with neons, especially this season because they are all over the fashion world and not just for nails anymore. I am a sucker for bright colors!

This is 3 coats of Color Club Wham! Pow! I don't think I captured the glow this color has very well. I went to the pool wearing this mani and it was amazing how bright it was in true sunlight! Too add a little something, I did an accent nail using striping tape, OPI Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh?, and a stamp.

I thought the accent nail was fun, even it if it didn't turn out perfectly.

What are your thoughts on neons? Any favorite shades?
